Next time you find yourself on the beach and getting a little bored of the endless sun, lapping waves and Grazia, take a leaf out of San Francisco based artist Andres Amador’s beach activity. Using only a rake and mate or two he creates large scale sand paintings, which he then photographs before the astonishing creation is washed away forever.
Most of his work takes place along the Californian coast, he waits for a full moon to catch the lowest tide and then rakes his “doodles” into the sand, so far he’s created over 100!
His photos are then turned into prints which are available to purchase via his website http://www.andresamadorarts.com. Maybe buy a set of the postcards, pop them into your beach bag and hand them over to the kids to reproduce then lie back and enjoy!
